It originated as a cross between the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Toy or Miniature Poodle, known as the Cavapoo or Cavoodle depending on where you live. The Theodore was specially bred to be an affectionate and gentle house dog.

Size
Height at the withers is 28-36 cm and weight is proportionate to height. Overall, a small, balanced dog.
Temperament
Gentle, intelligent, active and affectionate. Makes a great family companion, therapy dog or emotional support dog. Loves to be with people. May bark at strangers but not aggressive. Prone to separation anxiety so early socialization is key.
Head
Rounded skull without flatness or dome. Full muzzle slightly tapered. Scissors bite preferred. Round, wide set eyes with soft expression. Ears set at or slightly above eye level, flat against the skull.
Body and Tail
Nearly square in proportion, slightly longer than tall. Straight tail with slight curl carried above the topline.
Coat
The coat is the distinctive trait – soft, silky, luxurious waves or curls without undercoat. Low to no shedding and odor. All colors allowed.
Movement
Free, elegant and effortless movement showing good reach and drive. Moves straight coming and going.
